DisneyWorld Fun & Blogger Lunch

I just want to put it out there: DisneyWorld Parks do not have good food. At least not for this girl! I don’t think I am a food snob by any means, but I just wasn’t happy with the meals I had this weekend, aside from the basic salad I created at our hotel cafeteria.

Anyway, this trip was not about food but instead was about having fun, meeting new friends, seeing DisneyWorld, and of course, running the half marathon! Thank you all for your nice comments on my recap!

Saturday after the race PB and I quickly showered and took a nap. I had trouble staying asleep though (even though I was exhausted) and ended up playing on my iPhone. Around 11:30 AM Meghann texted me that they were running a bit late (she was picking us up for the blogger lunch) and we were so thankful! We were so tired from the race and the little bit of extra time was just what we needed. We finally hopped in the car with Meghann, Derek, and Melissa, and headed over to the blogger lunch!

Ashley from Healthy Ashley graciously took the time to organize this lunch, and it was so fun! Not only did I get to meet her but I met Caitlin of Healthy Tipping Point, Lori & Michelle (The Pure 2 Raw twins), Caitlin’s friend Lauren, and more!

We could have all chatted for hours!!!!!

I had the vegetarian wrap and french fries and even though I ate 80% of my plate I left hungry.

Luckily Meghann needed to stop at Whole Foods for a few things and I was able to get a blueberry muffin, which I ate less than 4 hours later.

DisneyWorld was calling our name, and even though we were hobbling around, we had a blast!

(Isn’t my outfit just, um, great? Navy velour pants and black puffy fleece….)

I was so cold I had my scarf around my face:

But then I saw this sign:

And knew it was worth not only the splurge but being cold too. Yes, churros are bad for you, but everything in moderation yes?

Our trip to DisneyWorld was great, but I am honestly happy to be back home. PB and I just finally put away all of our Christmas decorations, including our tree, and are ready for healthy meals again.

Oh, and the secret? I will be one of the 15 Foodbuzz Featured Publishers participating in a cake decorating and baking demonstration event in NYC with Kelly Ripa and Electrolux to raise support for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation. I am so happy to be involved with such a great cause, and I get to see some of my friends too!

  4. I think Disney has great food. My fave restaurants are California Grill and Victoria and Alberts.. both pretty pricey. My fave hotel food is at the Artist point at Saratoga Springs…. They have the yummiest salad. I’ve never been to any of the All- Star resorts though so I can’t speak for them. Park food is def NOT the best though. Maybe I’m just a disneyphile…lol. I’m hoping to do my culinary school externship @ Disney World

  5. Allison- Sorry I am going back to clarify. I meant PARK food of course!!! πŸ™‚

  8. I’ve spent New Years Eve at Disney World and so can feel your pain. But NYC is totally going to make up for all less than perfect meals in DW.

  17. I sooo want to go to Disney world after seeing it so much

  18. We did Disney for our Honeymoon and LOVED the food. Granted, we had the dining plan and ate at all sit down restaurants. I think that’s the key. All of the quick stop places are NOT healthy, or very delicious if you want something fried, but the other places are GREAT πŸ™‚

  19. I love churros πŸ™‚ I love all the pictures of you and PB and your outfit is AWESOME =D
