A Decade of Memories

10 years of memories.

2000
I was junior captain of Westernettes, the high school flag core. I loved it.

2001
Chose to paint a periodic table on the back wall of the physics classroom for my senior year physics project. It took a lot of afternoons after school.

Graduated 21st in my class from Cranston High School West.
Went on an epic trip to Italy and Jordan with my family.
Started freshman year at Providence College.
Lost my mom a few weeks later.

2002
I can’t really remember much of 2002, probably because of what happened in 2001.

2003
Learned to breathe, love, and be again.

2004
I went to Florence, Italy with Dadriana & Ileana to study abroad for our spring semester of junior year of college. We visited so many cities in Italy, and many others in the world.. London, Paris, Prague, Budapest, Vienna, and on and on.

They left in May, and I had such a nice time I stayed until the end of August. Rawan (my cousin) came out for 6 weeks, and we went to Jordan for Reem’s wedding before coming back to the states. I had a tough time readjusting to life in the U.S.

2005
Went to Argentina to visit a friend. Graduated from Providence College with a Bachelor of Science in Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Italian. Loved both majors. Traveled to San Diego with my girl cousins. I applied to a lot of jobs and got some great offers. My dad matched every offer. I followed my heart and went to work for him. I loved and still love it. I got closer to my dad than I had ever been, and finally got to know him as a person and not just a father.

2006
This was my most memorable partying year. I spent a good amount of time partying with my girlfriends and dating. It was fun. I went to Italy with Lynne and Gina.

I went to Ecuador for a week.

I met PhillyBoy at an engagement party in Philadelphia, but only briefly. He didn’t ask for my number. I had a boyfriend at the time. My brother got married on December 31st.

2007
I bought my first property, a 2 bedroom 1.5 bathroom townhouse condominium in Cranston, RI in April. It was scary but also made me feel like I was really an adult.

I started cooking a lot and made a lot of mistakes. I also successfully hosted my first dinner parties.

PB and I met again at a wedding in June. pbandi.jpg

It was pretty much love at first sight. We started dating, and the trips back and forth to Philly and Rhode Island began. I started blogging, mostly about anything on my mind. In November we went to San Francisco for Darren & Mary’s wedding. I remember gushing to my friends about him all the time, until they basically asked me to stop. Yes, I was one of those girls. I kept experimenting in the kitchen. I started losing weight. My friends asked for recipes and tips. I started blogging about them. Around Christmas PB and my dad met for the first time.

I freaked out a little because it meant things were about to get really serious. Every night I had dreams of rings and weddings.

2008
Valentine’s Day was so fun and special. I had a gang of.. stuffed penguins.. waiting for me at my condo. PB and I trained for our first half marathon. It was a major fail. On May 1st, 10 months after officially beginning to date, PhillyBoy proposed.

I started crying a lot, out of happiness for the who I have in my blessed life and for those missing. On PB’s 29th birthday I tried to surprise him for dinner in Philadelphia. My flight was delayed many times. We kept getting on and off the plane. I cried and called my dad to come pick me up.

2009
PB and I celebrated our love at LaCroix. I was in wedding planning overdrive while working and planning my move to Philadelphia. I moved my stuff to Philadelphia and rented out my condo, moving into my dad’s house until our wedding. My family came into town, and the celebrations began. PhillyBoy and I got married.

I officially moved to Philadelphia, and was very sad the first couple of months. Homesick. Soon I started calling Philadelphia home, though, and am so happy to be living there. Married life is great, and we are excited for what 2010 will bring us….
