I turn 26 today! It’s my first birthday ever (that I remember) that I am not celebrating in R.I., and my first birthday with my new last name!!!
To celebrate a little early, PB took me to P.F. Chang’s for dinner with his sister and her bf! We spent Labor Day Weekend in Brigantine, NJ, right near Atlantic City, so we headed to A.C. Saturday for a night of fun and laughs. Oddly enough, I wore the same dress I bought before going there for the first time.
Here’s my lovely husband surrounded by flights:
His sister and I each ordered flights.. I had white wine while she had sake. Her bf had some tasty beer and PB had his usual: Greygoose on the rocks.
More lovebirds (My SIL & her bf):
We shared some apps… vegetarian lettuce wraps, chicken lettuce wraps, and ahi tuna (unphotographed whoops!):
For dinner I had the Buddha’s Feast steamed, with shrimp instead of tofu, and brown rice on the side… a la Gina.
Here is our jam packed table!
The best part of dinner (besides the company) came at the end of course! We weren’t given the tray of mini desserts to choose from, and instead sat around chatting and relaxing… I should have known there would be birthday candles on the way!!!!! My SIL’s bf’s birthday is in a week in a half so our pals took care of us. We were given two desserts and a lovely happy birthday… one dessert had bananas and some type of coconut ice cream that was divine. The other one was a chocolate cake with raspberry sauce. Both were amazing, but surprisingly I preferred the banana dessert. I never choose desserts with bananas but this was so flavorful without being heavy even though it was fried. It almost tasted like our honeymoon.
The food and service at P.F. Chang’s was really great. I love that they are so accommodating there and are willing to change items on the menu to suit your dietary preferences. I also happen to love the price point. You feel like you are getting a fun dinner out without spending too much money.
After dinner we went to see Cirque Dreams which was really fun, then went to a bar with some friends, then PB, his friend Robbie, and I had some fun playing craps at one of the casinos. I guess I was supposed to be good luck since it was my first time playing, but unfortunately I was only good luck to everyone else at the table! Whoops!
The past year has been a really incredible one. Last year, for my birthday, I was still living in Rhode Island and had my maiden name. In the interim I married my favorite PhillyBoy, Trig, moved to Philadelphia, went on an amazing honeymoon to Bora Bora, and more. Since today is so special- 9/9/09 will never happen again, 9 is my favorite number (or any number divisible by 3 actually), and well, it’s my birthday- PB is cooking a special dinner for us AND we are having movie night at home!!! I feel like it is going to be a perfect night. I am also going to have my favorite oatmeal mix for breakfast right now. I’ll share it all with you tomorrow!

P.P.S. There is a secret I revealed in this post… consider it my birthday present to all the curious cats.
