A RhodeyGirl meets…

…a Rhodey Girl!

Heather from HangryPants and I finally got to meet! Heather was coming into town so we decided to go to dinner at the Garden Grille in Pawtucket. Traffic was the usual Ct. mess so she was running an hour late… I guess she wanted me to really experience what HANGRY means? hahah! Kidding, actually. It ended up working out perfectly as PB got into town early and we got to hang a little but before I went out with Heather. He needed down time after his 6 hour drive so I left him at home and got on the road!

It was funny having dinner with Heather because I feel like we’ve been friends for years. In typical Sabrina-foot-in-mouth behavior I was really excited and kept blabbing on and on like old friends do- so much talking that we were there for like 3 hours! So fun.

Dinner was DELICIOUS! We both ordered the Grandma Reggie’s Raw Heaven salad and if I could recreate it at home I would. It was so delicious and fresh and was just what I needed on a Friday night. I also ordered a margherita pizza with the intention of bringing most of it home to PB. I ate two pieces while out at dinner but a third may or may not have been eaten in the car ride home!

Salad components:
cashew gomasio

There was a group of people celebrating a birthday party at the other end of our long table and after 3 or 4 flashs (the lighting was weird and I couldn’t get a picture that would turn out of the salad) one of the guys looked over at us.. I laughed and told him “well the food looked so good” but Heather, not being as shy as I am, told him we blog about food! When his friend got her piece of birthday cake they offered Heather a chance to take a shot of it. How funny!

I brought some fun wedding stuff to show Heather (on her request) which I was so grateful for because I can’t show my family. It is all top secret! And we had some good talks about life, love, and more! Heather and her mom bought PB and I a wedding gift and it was so super sweet and nice! It is Giada’s book on family dinners. I already checked it out and can’t wait to COOK from it! Thanks Heather and Mrs. Momma HangryPants! SOOOO sweet and kind of you.

Heather is such a sweetie- if you can imagine, even MORE nice than she is on her blog. I know we will hang out again and hopefully next time our boys will come! I have a feeling they will get along as well as we do.

Happy Sunday! and Happy Father’s Day to you dad! The world is brighter with you in it.

  1. I’m glad you and Heather had a great time together!! That meal sounds incredible πŸ™‚

  2. Fun!! Your meals look fabulous. I’ve definitely had my fair share of other diners asking why I was taking pictures of my food. One time I was taking a picture of my salad in Ruby Tuesday’s and the waiter was so confused on why I was taking a photo of my “masterpiece”, as he called it πŸ˜€

  3. HOORAY!! Glad you two could meet πŸ™‚

  4. How fun. I love Hangry Heather – my nickname for her is Heath. πŸ™‚

Looks like a wonderful dinner. I totally would have joined you for a piece of pizza in the car ride home!

  5. awww how fun! What a nice dinner!

  6. I hope I didn’t embarrass you when I told them we were food bloggers! I think they liked it anyway.

I am glad you liked the cookbook. Can’t wait to see you again!
